Hamburg, Germany
The partners met in Hamburg for the 3rd FOCI project meeting, hosted by David Grawe. The meeting took place in the Meteorological Institute of the University of Hamburg from June 17-19 2024 and was followed by the project review meeting, June 19 and 20 2024.
The coordinators started with a project status update, explaining the overall progress made by the project. This was followed by updates from all the work packages and discussions on cross-cutting activities.
The observational components (WP1 and WP2) are close to completion, while the modeling tasks (WP4 and WP6) are delayed due to the inconsistency of emission inventories used for the global earth system models and the regional models.
The host also incorporated some site-seeing and team dinners into the agenda. Pictured below, the participants venturing on a little boat tour down the Elbe after a long day of meetings.
